Wales is one of the four nations of the United Kingdom (the others are Scotland, Northern Ireland and, of course, England). Although most people in Wales speak English, the Welsh language remains alive and kicking.
Drenewydd (drey-new-ith) means New Town in Welsh. As well as the sizeable town in Mid Wales, there are many smaller communities with that name. drenewydd.com is named for the one near Rhymney in the South Wales valleys: its English name is Butetown.
drenewydd.com was originally intended as an e – commerce site for local crafts but that never happened. Now it will support an empowered community of IT users. The name seems to fit.
